Police said the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of the north bound ute when it collided with the back of a truck.

Both the driver of the ute and the truck were taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory blood and alcohol testing.

All lanes have reopened and traffic conditions are returning to normal.
