The Welsh international will remain in the Red V until the end of 2017 after the former Cronulla back-rower joined St George Illawarra for the 2013 season.
‘‘I am thrilled to have been able to secure my future with the Dragons,’’ Frizell said.
‘‘I have had nothing but positive experiences since arriving here and I look forward to many more great years wearing the Red V and representing the club.’’
Frizell was one of the few shining lights for the Dragons in a miserable 2013 season, with the 22-year-old managing to feature in 22 matches for the year.
‘‘It’s very pleasing for everyone at the Dragons that Tyson has chosen to stay with the club for an extended term,’’ said coach Steve Price.
‘‘Everyone has a high opinion of him here with the way he conducts himself both on and off the field and he is an exciting part of what is being built here at the club.’’
