Hawks guard Tyson Demos is wary of a resurgent performance from the Sydney Kings' big three when the two sides meet for the second time in a week on Saturday.

Wollongong put on an impressive display to outlast their rivals 73-69 at home last week, but Demos is keeping his eyes fixed on a turnaround from Ben Madgen, Sam Young and AJ Ogilvy. The trio were far from their best at WIN Entertainment Centre, combining for a mammoth 14 turnovers.

Demos believes they will be hungry to turn those numbers around in the pair's second meeting in Sydney.

"There has been all the hype that they are going to come out firing so we are definitely ready to go out there and match their intensity and effort," Demos said.

"We will play just as hard and physical as they are."

Demos will spend a vast majority of his court time helping guard Madgen, as one of the Hawks best on-ball defenders.

But the Hawks' guard wasn't willing to make the Kings' skipper his sole focus.

"You have got to be wary of Madgen. He has got the ability to come out and put 20 points on you in a quarter, so we are definitely looking out for him," Madgen said.

"Also Sam Young and AJ [Ogilvy] is going to be looking to be a bit more aggressive this game.

"We are going to look to mix up the defence, play a bit of zone and pressure up the floor."

The Hawks executed the fundamentals well in their third win of the campaign and are looking to produce a similar performance back-to-back for the first time this season.

"We want to keep up our rebounding. I think we beat them a couple of rebounds last game, so that is probably the first game that we have won the rebounding count," Demos said.

"Also on turnovers, I think we limited our turnovers pretty well, so hopefully we can take it on on Saturday."

Despite still sitting bottom of the NBL ladder, a win could lift the Hawks within touching distance of the top four.

"Training has been pretty good, everyone has been pumped. Hopefully we can try and take the confidence out of last week's win and carry it up to Sydney on Saturday," Demos said.

"It would be good to get two in a row and also it would be good to get the win over the Christmas break."
