The popularity of the skivvy-clad singers among the preschool set can cause parking chaos on the streets of Wollongong as parents vie for most pram-friendly spot.
Marc Swan, manager business development and marketing for WIN Sports and Entertainment Centres, said that as well as pay and display parking in the CBD, parking was available at WIN Stadium, across the road from the Chifley Hotel.
He also recommended people consider using the Gong Shuttle and directed patrons to the venue’s website for more detailed parking information.
‘‘The key message as well is for people to leave plenty of time to arrive at the venue and get settled before the show starts,’’ he said.
He said the entertainment centre was opening its doors at 8.45am for the 10am show to allow the estimated 3000 attendees enough time to get comfortable.
A spokesman from Wollongong City Council suggested people heading to the concert use other council car parks and catch the free shuttle or other public transport to make their way from there.
He reminded people to only park in dedicated parking spaces and not other areas.
In 2008, more than 100 parking fines were issued to Wiggles concert-goers who parked illegally near the venue.
