The relay will be launched at the Albion Park Show on Saturday.
Shellharbour Relay for Life will take place at the Albion Park Showground on March 22-23 and will raise funds for the Cancer Council. Last year's Relay raised in excess of $75,000.
Shellharbour Relay committee chairperson Tracey Jansen will be at the launch along with Illawarra cancer survivors and Cancer Council NSW volunteers.
"With one in two living in NSW being diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85, now more than ever, we need our locals to do what they have always done with such pride," Mrs Jansen said.
The launch program starts at 9.30am and will feature live music, colouring-in and free face-painting. Early bird registration is $15 per person (until January 22). For details go to www.relayforlife.org.au.
