The Illawarra trio participated in a hospitality workshop at the Illawarra ITeC centre yesterday as part of the organisation's campaign to find 100 jobs in 100 days for indigenous job seekers.
It was the first of four workshops this week aimed at providing advice on training and applying for jobs in security, retail, administration and hospitality.
Tahlia, from Dapto, said she had been looking for work since finishing high school in 2012.
Despite facing many rejections, the 19-year-old said she now tried harder to find a job.
"There's a lot of people struggling," she said.
"It's very hard to get a job these days."
She hoped to find administration work, but was open to other fields.
Searching for a job has also become tiring for Fairy Meadow's Dan, aged 18, who said he had been constantly ignored.
"I've sent out about 40 emails in the past two months and I've only gotten one reply saying, 'sorry'," he said.
"I'm just emailing them because I want a job, not because Centrelink tell me to."
Job network provider The ORS Group's national indigenous co-ordinator, Jack Fletcher, said the company would be present at all the workshops.
"Being Aboriginal myself, it's a passion of mine," he said.
"I did a traineeship three years ago with a job network provider.
"I'm only 22 and I just worked my way up.
"If I can do it, anyone can.
"[The job] is not easy, it's very challenging but it's very rewarding."
ITeC will hold an employment workshop open day on Thursday for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders starting at 10am at the ITeC centre in Coniston.
