Lorde ticks off Stones cover
Chart-topping New Zealand teen singing sensation Lorde can now tick off another music industry achievement - the cover of music bible Rolling Stone magazine.
The 17-year-old - whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Connor - is described by the magazine as the ‘‘unlikeliest superstar in pop’’.
Lorde spent nine weeks at the top of the US Hot 100 Billboard chart last year and will perform at this month’s Grammys, where she is up for four awards.
Lorde is pictured on the cover wearing a t-shirt of rockabilly punk band The Cramps, and the magazine looks at her childhood, how her single Royals became such a hit and how she has become an icon for teenage girls.

Watts up for Worst Actress Razzie
Australian actress Naomi Watts has picked up two nominations at this year’s Golden Raspberry Awards, which calls out the year’s worst cinematic efforts, for her roles in Diana and Movie 43.
The 2012 Oscar nominee will face off for Worst Actress against Halle Berry, for her roles in The Call and Movie 43, Lindsay Lohan, Selena Gomez and drag actor Tyler Perry.
Three-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Johnny Depp also scores a nod as Worst Actor for his widely panned performance in The Lone Ranger.
Also in the running is Ashton Kutcher, for an unconvincing portrayal of Apple founder Steve Jobs; pretending-to-be-a-kid Adam Sandler; actual kid Jaden Smith; and all-time King of the Razzies Sylvester Stallone, with his 31st Razzie nomination for not one but three unloved roles in Grudge Match, Bullet to the Head and Escape Match.
The 34th annual Razzies will be awarded on March 1, the evening before the Oscars.
While far less star-studded than other award shows, past winners like Berry and Sandra Bullock have sometimes shown up in person to claim their gold spray-painted prizes.
One Direction's Payne 'sorry' over ledge pic
One Direction heart-throb Liam Payne has apologised after a photograph emerged of him standing on the ledge of a high-rise building.
The boyband star described what he did as ‘‘extremely dangerous’’, adding that it was ‘‘stupid’’ and ‘‘irresponsible’’.
In the photograph, Payne, 20, is standing on a ledge of a tower block with a city thought to be London seen sprawling behind him.
On Twitter, the singer said: ‘‘You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken. It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do.''
In a series of tweets three hours before his apology, Payne asked people to ‘‘stop coming and waiting outside’’ his house.
He also said he was sorry if he had been ‘‘rude’’ to anyone.

Twilight star sells love nest
Robert Pattinson has sold the house he shared with Kristen Stewart.
The actor first listed the Los Feliz, California property in October 2013 for $US6.75 million ($A7.55 million), according to Forbes.
Property records show the house was officially closed on January 14 for close to $US6.38 million.
The Twilight star bought the Spanish-style property on September 2, 2011, and lived there with his then-girlfriend and co-star Stewart.
When she was caught having an affair with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, Pattinson allegedly threw her out of the home.
He then reportedly found a Beverly Hills short-term rental while looking for a new house.
