Mr Lyon's talk is titled National Reform: Local Impacts, and will focus on Illawarra connections to the national agenda.
Infrastructure Partnerships Australia is regarded as a peak infrastructure body.
Mr Lyon joined the organisation in 2006 after previously holding roles in the government and the private sector.
He initially worked in IPA's policy and research team and later led the organisation's media and government relations functions.
He was appointed chief executive in early 2008 and serves on a range of boards and committees such as the board of Transport for NSW (formerly the NSW Department of Transport), the ACCC's Infrastructure Regulation Advisory Committee, the Commonwealth Government's High Speed Rail Steering Group, its National Urban Policy Forum and the Queensland Premier's Business Advisory Group.
He also served as a member of the Commonwealth Government's Infrastructure Finance Working Group.
Mr Lyon has been appointed as a visiting Associate Professor at the Sydney Business School. He holds a Masters of Business Administration.
He has also authored and contributed to a large number of research and policy papers dealing with infrastructure funding, financing and sector reforms.
