The deadline for submitting responses to help councillors to decide how high to raise rates and which services to cut is 5pm today.
Already, more than 200 people have completed a Wollongong City Council poll canvassing views on three budget scenarios which each have different combinations of rate rises, service cuts, fee hikes and efficiencies.
As of late yesterday, option three was the clear leader with 45 per cent of respondents selecting it as their preferred option.
The scenario proposes a "more significant rate rise [and] efficiencies with low impact on services and staff", and would mean rates go up about 25 per cent over the next three years.
Option one - which has significant service cuts and efficiencies and a 16 per cent rate rise - was the next most popular scenario with 29 per cent of votes, while the middle ground second scenario gained 27 per cent of votes.
In addition to the survey, residents can submit letters, emails and online submissions until the end of the day.
Councillors will then debate which rate option to choose at the February 17 council meeting.
The council has encouraged all residents to make a submission before submissions close.
