Sun's out and so are beachgoers

Illawarra residents took advantage of the break in the wet weather yesterday, heading to the region's beaches to bathe in the sunshine.

After a wet and gloomy weekend, people were more than happy to head outdoors as the mercury climbed to the mid 20s and the rain stayed away.

But the spell of sun is set to be short-lived, with showers and a chance of a storm predicted today.

Fine weather may return briefly tomorrow, with temperatures expected to hit 24 degrees, before the rain sets in again for the weekend.
