The preschool falls within the exclusion zone around the structure and Port Kembla Copper is paying for the students to go on an excursion to Green Bean Play Cafe and Artspace at Corrimal, where they will enjoy a show from a circus group.
Following the demolition, cleaners will blast the preschool's outdoor space to remove any dust. Preschool director Vesna Neloska will inspect the grounds to ensure they are suitable for children to return tomorrow.
She said she had no concerns about the demolition.
"Port Kembla Copper have been really good, they've kept in contact with us throughout the whole process."
All other schools in the area fall outside the exclusion zone, but have taken their own precautions.
St Patrick's Catholic Primary School has a pupil free day and staff will go to a professional learning day.
A Department of Education spokeswoman said students at Port Kembla Public School would attend an off-site excursion, while students from Five Islands Secondary College can attend supervised classes at Kiama High School.
She said these decisions had primarily been made due to today's potential traffic issues
Port Kembla Public School will also need to alter the opening lines of its school song - which begins "We've got the stack at the back."
