But police appear to be no closer to finding the mystery man implicated in the haul who rented the villa but checked out the night before the arrest.

The man, known only as “Azaria” had been in the villa with his unidentified girlfriend from February 9.

At about 8pm on February 11, he checked out to catch a flight.

The following morning, New Zealand born Sydney woman Leeza Tracey Ormsby, 37, who was staying nearby, was arrested over a stash of drugs found in Azaria’s villa.

She was caught by police entering the Villa Anggrek, part of the Aksara complex, with a key at about 8am on February 12.

Police have said they were acting on a tip-off.

Another mystery man has now also been implicated in the story.

A gardener and handyman working at the nearby villa, Villa Charles, where Ormsby was staying, say an unidentified white foreigner was in the police car during the search of her belongings.

“Police came by with her last Wednesday,” said Satriya, a handyman at Villa Charles.

“We were asked to witness when they opened and searched her suitcase. They found nothing but clothes. Then they took her away.

“There was another man, a foreigner, sitting in the car the police brought her in. He never came down."

Gardener Wayan Sandiarsa said: “I saw the man too in the car. He just sat there, It was another bule (white foreigner). I don't remember what he looked like.”

Gede Wijaya, the supervisor of villa Askara, where the drugs were found, told Fairfax Media that Ormsby had regularly visited Azaria with other friends over the few days before her arrest.After they apprehended her on the morning on February 12, they had asked Mr Gede to be their witness as they searched the villa for about six hours, until 2pm.

They had first found a hashish joint in Ormbsby’s bag, and later found more drugs inside a locked drawer at the villa, Mr Gede said.

Asked if they were drugs, Ormsby had said: “I don’t know, I don’t know. It’s not mine”.

“At one point she was crying, I saw tears.”

The 132.2 grams of MDMA and 26.06 grams of hashish will constitute an extremely serious offence under Indonesia’s strict drug laws, but police have not yet announced what charges they will pursue.

The delay between Ormsby’s arrest and the announcement last week suggests police were still trying to find others staying in the villa, but were unable to do so.

Mr Gede said Ms Ormsby was “definitely friends” with Azaria.

“I had seen her several times in previous days, with the man who was staying at the villa. But he had left the night before, at 8pm. I don't know how she got hold of the keys.

“I saw her with some other friends, going out during the days, I don't know where to, with Azaria. They rode scooters, four or five of them. He was just like any other foreign tourist — I don't remember anything specific about him,” Mr Gede said.

Azaria had not booked through an online site or agent, but had come to the door with “another friend who seemed to know about our villa”.

“He just showed up that day with his friend and we happened to have a villa available.”

Ormsby has been in the police cells since her arrest on February 12.
