Wollongong coach Gordie McLeod expects the Adelaide 36ers to up the ante this Friday at WIN Entertainment Centre.

The Hawks shocked the second-placed 36ers at the same venue two weeks ago, comfortably winning 102-80.

That confidence-boosting performance triggered a streak which stretched to four wins with last Friday's 88-68 defeat of New Zealand.

Adelaide were walloped by Perth two days after losing to Wollongong, prompting coach Joey Wright to sack import Jaryd Frye and replace him with Australian journeyman guard Rhys Carter.

The Sixers restored order with back-to-back triumphs over Melbourne and New Zealand.

McLeod believes Adelaide will rely more on full-court defensive trapping than they did in the previous clash.

"We'll see a lot more aggressive team this week," he said.

"They'll be a different challenge because Carter has a different skill set to Frye. Obviously bringing in another guard means we expect them to get after us up the floor, no question."

Wollongong import Kevin Tiggs will miss his second game with a knee injury. Tiggs had minor surgery last week and hopes to return for next weekend's home game against Cairns.

"It all depends on how his rehab goes. It could all come together quick or it might take a bit longer," McLeod said.

Despite being without Tiggs against the Breakers, the Hawks dominated the defending champions.

"On different nights, anyone can get going, and we've had four or five guys in double figures in the last four games," guard Tyson Demos said.

"We're playing great team basketball right now and it's showing in the win column. We're all sticking to our roles and making key contributions.

"That's the thing with Gordie's offence. It's not one guy on one night, it's everyone who gets on the floor. It makes it hard to scout us and hard to guard us."
