Wollongong Local Area Command’s Drug Unit formed Strike Force Ugoa in February last year to investigate large-scale supply of prohibited drugs within Wollongong and Lake Illawarra LACs.
As a result of their inquiries, investigators travelled to Wagga Wagga on Tuesday and arrested a 47-year-old man.
It’s alleged the man used a prime mover to transport heat-sealed bags of cannabis from Wagga Wagga to an address in Pheasants Nest in the Southern Highlands between February 22 and August 21 2013.
Police will allege the total quantity of drugs supplied during this six-month period was 118kg, which has an estimated street value of $910,000.
The man has been charged with supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs. He was refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court tomorrow.
Strike Force Ugoa is ongoing.
