Illawarra Businesswoman of the Year Maralyn Young is hosting a free breast cancer awareness and education program workshop at Casa Mia Fairy Meadow on March 12.
Mrs Young is preparing to take her BreastAware initiative into high schools in 2014 but is hosting a two-hour workshop at 6pm next Wednesday.
It is being held in the Casa Mia Pamper Centre, which provides a range of products, information, support and services to women affected by cancer.
They include everything from wigs, hats and other accessories for women who have lost their hair from chemotherapy, to prosthetic breast forms for women who have had a mastectomy or lumpectomy. Casa Mia has two bra-fitting and post-mastectomy specialist boutiques in the Illawarra.
Since opening the first in 2005, Mrs Young has developed a passion for educating young women about knowing their body and what is normal.

Hope for industry
There was some welcome good news for Illawarra manufacturing and engineering firms on Monday when the latest Australian Industry Group Australian Performance of Manufacturing Index (Australian PMI) revealed improvements in production had contributed to an easing in the rate of contraction.
The seasonally adjusted index firmed by 1.9 points to 48.6, which was still below the 50, which indicates a contraction in activity.
