Police injured in Shellharbour collision

Police are investigating a minor collision between a car and a police vehicle in Shellharbour on Wednesday.

About 2.20am, police initiated a pursuit with a blue Holden sedan in Benson Avenue.

The Holden turned left into Wattle Road, where it lost control, spun 180 degrees, and came to rest facing the police car.

The offending vehicle accelerated, mounting the western footpath and colliding with the front nearside of the police vehicle.

After continuing along the footpath, the Holden sped away on the wrong side of the road.

Police located the Holden a short time later, abandoned in Kowari Crescent, Blackbutt.

Two police officers sustained minor injuries during the incident. They were treated at Shellharbour Hospital.
