More than 1200 oysters, hundreds of kilograms of prawns, mountains of bread rolls, as well as sandwiches and fish.
Come Sunday morning, they will be spread across the fridges, kitchens and counters at Illawarra Turf Club. Come Sunday night, they will be in the bellies of the scores of punters who attend Sensational Sunday, one of the biggest days on the local racing calendar.
Head chef at the turf club, Kathleen Hedger, said she expected capacity crowds to fill the racecourse’s three dining rooms.
The race day features the region’s richest race, the $20,000 Keith F Nolan Classic for three-year-old fillies over 1600metres, as part of a full day of racing from 1pm.
It is always a great day out, Ms Hedger said.
Bookings and packages for lunch are still available.
