The rock'n'roll theme won't be the only highlight of the entertainment at this weekend's Shellharbour Relay for Life.
Eight singing and dancing studios from throughout the region will unite under one banner for a common cause - to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
Jenny Jones, relay committee member and owner of Albion Park Rail's Danze Gallery, said this wasn't a common occurrence.
"It's very competitive between studios and unheard of," she said.
"But the studios here are very community-minded.
"It's been unbelievable for us; it's seen the whole community come together, the entertainment community coming together as one for one purpose."
Starting at 10.30am on Saturday, the entertainment schedule will include dancing, singing, rock'n'roll dancing, performances from the Illawarra Country Music Club, an appearance from John "Elvis" Collins, a variety show and teaser for Wollongong theatre company MoonGlow Productions' version of Legally Blonde.
"We've got something for everybody," Mrs Jones said.
Some light-hearted entertainment will also take place during the inaugural Miss Relay.
This will feature male entrants "dressing the part" in evening wear, strutting their stuff, demonstrating a talent and collecting donations in the hope of taking home a trophy.
Mrs Jones was inspired by her family's own cancer battles to get involved with organising relay events.
"I had cervical cancer and have been clear for 13 years," she said. "My sister passed away from stomach and bowel cancer.
"It spurs me on a little more.
"I urge every young woman to get their pap smears regularly and guys to get their checks done as well."
Dancer Zali Mowbray, a year 7 student at St Joseph's Catholic High School, Albion Park, will perform at her first relay this weekend.
"I just like performing and to do it to help other people makes it even better," she said.
Fellow St Joseph's year 7 student Chloe Pessego is almost a relay veteran and will help perform a jazz, tap, hip-hop and modern dance routine.
