The Football South Coast Peoplecare Academy is the region's official pathway for boys and girls who are able to train intensively with FSC's highly experienced coaches.
The academy program is aligned to Football NSW and Football Federation Australia pathways, and is run across several geographic locations including Wollongong (Central), Albion Park (Southern) and Bulli (Northern). The academy also has a girls-only academy program plus provides specialist once-a-week goalkeeper coaching at Wollongong.
The academy program is run over three 10-week terms per year, with term 3 to run on April 28. Football South Coast's Peoplecare Academy will benefit from Port Kembla junior and Sydney FC striker Gameiro taking on an ambassador role and joining the coaching staff.
Gameiro has been one of Sydney FC's best players this season and is keen to lend his A-League and international experience in a coaching and development role.
Gameiro is an under-20 Socceroo, plus played junior football at English Premier League club Fulham and is keen to share his knowledge.
The development of the FSC academy this year has continued with the backing of Peoplecare as naming rights partner.
Peoplecare is providing one scholarship each term to a player in each of the three academy locations, and will donate a set of portable goalposts to one club at the end of the year.
