New faces join IWIB awards judging

The entries are in and the judging has commenced for the 2014 Illawarra Women in Business (IWIB) Awards.

At the first judges' meeting on Thursday, IWIB directors Glenda Papac and Delyse Del Turco said the annual celebration of businesswomen success in the region would not be possible without the sponsors and judges.

"We are overwhelmed with the calibre of the applicants, Illawarra has some outstanding businesswomen and the judges' task will again be a difficult one."

The judging panel this year includes some new faces.

Meeting at the Chifley Hotel in Wollongong for the first judges' briefing were Jenny Hirst, of Illawarra Business Chamber, Virginia Wren, of Illawarra ITEC, Belinda Gauci, of Suncorp Bank, Dianne Chalk, of Hillross Fairy Meadow, Terry Widdicombe, of IMB Business Banking, Lisa Gallagher, of datagirl, Margaret Reveley, of TAFE Illawarra, Vi Blazevska, of ANZ, Stacey Gow, of GJ Gardner Homes, Ms Del Turco, of Better Business Accounting, Margaret Biggs, of TIGS, Angus Dobb, of Suncorp Bank, Sylvia Searle, of Hillross Fairy Meadow, Candice Gilchrist, of Warren Saunders Insurance, Jan Kerridge, of Better Business Accounting, Erin Campbell, of TAFE Illawarra, Nancy Jesus, of ANZ and Julie Norris, of Better Business Accounting.

Mrs Papac said further information about the awards and ticket sales would be posted on the iwib.com.au website.

Winners will be announced at Wollongong's Bella Portofino Function Centre on May 2.

Guest speaker is Natalie Viselli, entertainment is by Katherine Akele, with a performance from Legally Blonde the Musical.
