Woman assaulted on train: police

A man is due to appear in court today after allegedly indecently assaulting a woman on a train near Hurstville on Saturday night.

The woman, 23, was on a train heading north from Wollongong about 7pm when a man, 39, approached her.

Police allege the man spoke to the woman briefly, before indecently assaulting her.

Officers from the Police Transport Command arrested the man at Hurstville Railway Station.

He was taken to St George Police Station, Kogarah and charged with indecent assault and offensive behaviour.
