Paramedics were called to the Lawrence Hargrave property about 8.45am on Tuesday to reports the man, identified by his employer as Joel Prescott-Smith, was suffering leg and pelvic injuries following the fall.
The company in charge of the work site was Coastline Roofing Solutions.
Director Jono Stoyles visited Mr Prescott-Smith after he had been flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.
Mr Stoyles said scans on Mr Prescott-Smith had come back clear, and he was in good spirits.
He said Mr Prescott-Smith had been hooked up to a harness when he fell, however his line was too loose, and he hit the ground.
‘‘He was out of pendulum... he should have had his line a bit tighter,’’ Mr Stoyles said.
‘‘Some of the line took some force but then he hit the ground.’’
A Workcover NSW spokeswoman said an investigation had commenced following the incident.
‘‘Preliminary inquiries indicate the worker was undertaking roof repairs on a residential property when he fell five metres on to a concrete driveway,’’ she said.
‘‘Workcover inspectors have visited the site and commenced an investigation.’’
Mr Stoyles said a safety meeting was held on Tuesday after the fall.
‘‘The biggest thing we got out of it is you don’t get up on a wet roof,’’ he said.
Four people were working on the property at the time of the incident.
