Power has been restored to more than a thousand homes and businesses after a power outage in Wollongong CBD on Tuesday.
An Endeavour Energy spokeswoman said a fault occurred at the intersection of Corrimal and Swan streets before a ‘‘ripple fault’’ then extended north to Harbour Street at 7am.
‘‘There’s been a technical fault, we’ve had several crews there trying to restore it as safely and quickly as possible,’’ the spokeswoman said earlier on Tuesday.
About 1300 customers were initially affected and the spokeswoman said that was reduced to 1100 by 9am and, at lunchtime there were 304 services left to reconnect.
All services were reconnected by 1.45pm.
