Bede Murray has opted to halve his Carbine Club Stakes (2000m) arsenal, with O'Reilly's Revenge the only one of his two entries he's likely to accept with for day one of The Championships.
Murray had entered smart three-year-olds Darci Magic and O'Reilly's Revenge for the Group 3 event, but will instead send Darci Magic to the Warwick Farm meeting on Wednesday.
"That [Carbine Club nomination] was there as in case the races were called off, but up in Sydney it's nice and fine so we'll be heading to Warwick Farm," Murray said.
"I knew what I had to do if Warwick Farm didn't go ahead. He'll be much better on top of the ground."
Darci Magic caught the eye with a very impressive win on Sensational Sunday, fuelling Murray's confidence about an imminent winter carnival campaign in Brisbane.
"He'll be going to Eagle Farm for the Gunsynd Classic," Murray said.
He's likely to be joined by O'Reilly's Revenge.
"I'll wait and see what he does on Saturday, but there are plans for him to go north as well," Murray said.
