Humour helps survivor tell breast cancer story

Wollongong hairdresser and breast cancer survivor Tanya Curran Brown is launching her new breast cancer survival book A Tale of Two Titties at the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach on Monday.

Published by Love & Write Publishing, Monday's book launch is open to the public at 7pm.

A Tale of Two Titties is a personal memoir of Ms Brown's battle with a highly aggressive form of breast cancer.

Ultimately she made the brave decision to undergo a double mastectomy.

Ms Brown uses humour to help provide others with hope.

The emcee for the national book launch is Australian Small Business Champion Entrepreneur Maralyn Young, of CasaMia Fairy Meadow and Warilla.

Mrs Young is implementing a BreastAware initiative to help educate women of all ages about the importance of regular self breast examinations and show them the best technique.

BreastAware is being introduced into Illawarra high schools.
