Police said the man was charged with numerous sexual and indecent offences allegedly committed against a 12-year-old girl.
In December 2013, detectives from the Child Abuse Squad were told of allegations concerning a 70-year-old Mittagong man, who had allegedly indecently and sexually assaulted a young girl on a number of occasions between 2010 and 2012.
During the time of the alleged offences, the girl was aged between 12 and 14 years old and assisted the man with his business, which operated in the Bowral area.
The 70-year-old was arrested at his Mittagong property on Wednesday and charged with seven counts of aggravated indecent assault; one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 16 years; one count of sexual intercourse with a child between 10-14 years; and one count of attempted sexual intercourse of child between 10-14 years.
The man was refused bail and will appear in Goulburn Local Court on Thursday.
