The Blueys are the only side in the Illawarra Premier League to play every match to schedule this season and find themselves on top of the table as a result.

‘‘We have got a few games under our belt and it probably has meant that we are a little bit further ahead than what other teams are because we have been able to train most nights and play every week,’’ McGuire said.

‘‘We feel in a pretty good space at the moment but I think Fernhill is always a tough one over at Tarrawanna.’’

Conversely, the Foxes are one of three teams yet to take the pitch in the regular season.

However, McGuire’s men met Fernhill in the preseason and handed the Foxes a 4-0 drubbing on their way to the semi-finals.

‘‘On the scoreline it looked like it was a pretty easy game for us. But the way they are coached, they press really hard, they like to move the ball around and they have a couple of really dangerous players in their team,’’ McGuire said.

McGuire was confident on bringing an unchanged eleven into the match from last weekend’s convincing 3-1 win over Wollongong Olympic.

Dangerous front-men Rick Goodchild and Ilija Prenzoski found goal-scoring form in that fixture and their gaffer was hopeful it could continue.

‘‘If you look at most leagues not only in Australia, but around the world, people who are scoring goals are top of the table,’’ McGuire said.

In Friday’s other game, Wollongong Olympic play host to 2013 runners-up Bulli, who beat Port Kembla 2-1 midweek.
