The May 22 event is part of the Cancer Council's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea.
JCI Illawarra is calling for business support and is presently looking for silent auction items.
The 2014 Tea By The Sea will continue the annual tradition of auctioning a tea cup.
This year Simon Kersten, of Colliers International, is tasked with trying to smash the record of $2600 when two cups were sold for $1300 each.
Thomas & Coffey Wollongong general manager Peter Buckley is the MC for the event.
Mr Buckley said he was at the very first Tea By The Sea involving a group of 10 friends who met around the table after an invitation from event founder Stefanie Gaspari in 2007.
JCI Illawarra member Jesy Pinkerton said people could start purchasing tickets on Eventbrite tbts14.eventbrite.com.au.
She said JCI Illawarra members wanted it to be even bigger than last year when Tea By The Sea was the largest Australia's Biggest Morning Tea event in the state.
"We want to repeat that," she said.
"The funds that we raise go towards educating children about lifestyle related cancers and how they can avoid that through eating healthily and exercising. It will also go towards supporting people who are battling cancer at the moment whether that be by allied support, machines for diagnosis and for the cancer care nurses who visit people in their homes."
Jacqui Carnevale said the Cancer Council have also arranged for a researcher to speak as a special guest.
Ms Carnevale said it would be a hot plated breakfast with champagne available, a photo booth and musicians from TIGS.
RSVP and registrations can be made online.
