I totally agree with Buckets from Flinders (Mercury, April 14) in respect of park maintenance (or more importantly, lack thereof) in the Flinders area.

The point about things being different in Shell Cove is quite valid. Maybe this is another argument against the proposed Hub project, when there is glaring evidence of the obvious disregard for regular, general maintenance of parks, gardens and roads.
The main example is the village green in Flinders, in which should be an attraction for residents and their families, but mostly at best, would only attract snakes and vermin. It is embarrassing.
There is another park I know of in Moreton Place that suffers the same fate.
As Queen Marianne sits in her ivory tower contemplating the erection of her new castle, maybe she needs to be reminded that her subjects, in order to be proud of their area, need to have something worthwhile to display in order to show that pride.
Priorities need to be addressed – money best spent where necessary!
