Ms Cockburn faced the razor at the Audi Centre Wollongong Showroom in Corrimal Street and exceeded her target thanks to the generosity of her workmates, friends and family.
"I have just always wanted to shave my head for a cause," she said.Hairdresser Jade Wishart, of BluKiss Hair Gallery, visited the dealership in her own time to support the World's Greatest Shave.
Working angels
Business and community leaders interested in taking part in the Angels at Work Corporate Fundraising Breakfast and making a significant contribution to the Leukaemia Foundation's Angels at Work 2014 are invited to register at info@angelgroup.com.au by May 5.
The breakfast from 7am at Diggies at North Beach Wollongong will allow all present to grab a set of angel wings and fly back to their workplace to collect gold coin donations from their work colleagues on the day.

Therapy on wheels
Another 150 children at five more Illawarra preschools are to benefit from a unique mobile speech therapy service thanks to support from the Greater Building Society.
Bulli Community Preschool, Bright Beginnings Childcare and Early Learning Centre in Wollongong, Centenary Hill Preschool in Albion Park, Tattle Tales Preschool in Tarrawanna and Tiny Tots Early Learning Centre at Woonona are the latest preschools to be selected for the KidzSpeak mobile speech therapy service.
Since the service developed by KidzWish and funded by the Greater Charitable Foundation started in 2012 it has helped more than 450 children in 12 centres. And nine staff from Illawarra branches of The Greater have volunteered for the program.
Finish on high
Wollongong City Council has appointed IPAC Limited to manage the Wollongong Town Hall.
A decision was made at its February meeting to enter into negotiations with IPAC Limited, which trades as Merrigong Theatre Company.
The agreement was signed last week and the not-for-profit organisation assumes management of the Town Hall on behalf of the council from June 1, 2014.Merrigong takes over from Pegasus Venue Management, which helped revive the Town Hall following its reopening in 2011.

Cooking up hope
A Bringing Hope to the Community Breakfast is being held on Tuesday, April 29, at the House of Hope Recovery Centre in Warrawong.
General manager Lizzie Miller said the breakfast was being hosted by students presently doing its hospitality course.
"All the students have come to this course from a background of long-term unemployment and all its challenges," she said.
"They are from our local area and have faced many personal challenges from single parenting through to family issues."
Ms Miller said it was an opportunity to provide more information about the work being carried out by House of Hope.
Women ahead
iAccelerate launched an Entrepreneurial Women Breakfast Series in the Digital Media Centre at the Wollongong Innovation Campus last Wednesday to share the insights and stories of successful entrepreneurial women.
The series is designed to be a forum to discuss the challenges they have encountered and share lessons they have learnt.
Swing celebration
Wollongong Golf Club, established in 1897, celebrated the opening of several new holes recently with an open day.
It signalled the completion of stage two of the course master plan, including an extension of the opening par-five where a new undulating green was created at an elevated site beyond and to the left of the original location.
The uphill par-four 7th hole had the existing green complex redesigned with new bunkering.
The short par-three 17th now boasts a new green, bunkers and new chipping areas.
The teeing areas of the par-five 18th have been extended and new fairway bunkers added
Charity masquerade
The first one went so well last year The Denny Foundation is holding a second annual Masquerade Ball on July 12 at the Fraternity Club.
The annual event raises funds to help the foundation continue to assist youth at risk and disadvantaged families.
