The 11-year-old iron horse was a surprise omission from the Group 1 dash, but Justice confirmed the fan favourite will head north again before being whisked into retirement.
"We're going to definitely come up for another feature shortly," Justice told The Punt. "We just had a chequered recent past with him and he got beat the other night and I just thought he needed another run or two under his belt.
"He worked really well [Tuesday] morning but we've got to take on the best horses, so I thought we'd miss this week and we'll probably come up for another feature like the Brian Hancock [Cup]. He'll definitely come up to Menangle again before he retires to say goodbye."
Smoken Up has been entered for the Sokyola Sprint closer to home at Melton on Friday night. He has drawn the inside of the second row in the race named after Justice's former Miracle Mile champion.
Smoken Up clocked a scintillating 1min 48.5sec mile rate to win the 2011 Len Smith Mile and won it again 12 months later to complete a hat-trick of wins in the race.
James Rattray's Beautide is a prohibitive $1.40 favourite with tab.com.au for Sunday's race ahead of For A Reason ($4.80), with Suave Stuey Lombo ($7) the only other runner in single figures.
Beautide is attempting all three of Menangle's biggest open age races - the Miracle Mile, Inter Dominion and Len Smith Mile - each in the one season.
