If Wollongong City Council wants to increase rates and other charges, why can’t they start by first doing some in-house cost savings themselves?

First thing they could do is get rid of all those staff cars. There would be no more costly green slips, insurance bills, petrol costs or maintenance costs. Staff would use their own cars and if they had to go on a business trip, then they should put in place an expense account.
In a year’s time we can see how much they can save ratepayers. Come on, start saving us money.
