Homeless man stabbed in Wollongong

Police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly stabbed a homeless man at Lang Park in Wollongong on Tuesday.

Wollongong Inspector Jim Fryday said the two men were arguing when the homeless man, 46, was stabbed in the leg with a ‘‘sharp object’’.

The accused then fled the area, Insp Fryday said.

The victim walked towards WIN Entertainment Centre and asked a bus driver for help.

He was treated at Wollongong Hospital and has since been released.

Insp Fryday said the accused was known to both the victim and police.
