The champion ladies pennants club in two Illawarra lower-grade divisions will be decided at Windang Bowling Club on Thursday.

The round-robin finals began on Monday for Grade 4 featuring Warilla, Wiseman Park and Dapto, while in Grade 3 Windang Red take on Thirroul on Thursday for the title.

The Illawarra Grade 3 and 4 champions take on Southern Highlands winners Goulburn Railway in the regional finals at Picton next month.

Meanwhile, Illawarra District ladies president Thelma Lever on Thursday will present Grade 1 champions Warilla and Grade 2 winners Shellharbour with their pennant flag.

Reigning state champions Warilla will defend their title at the state finals at Port Stephens on August 25-29.

Shellharbour won the Illawarra Grade 2 flag after a tremendous season which included just one defeat.

With the Shellharbour club to close at the end of the year, the ladies will have extra motivation to do well in the state finals.
