Corinne Whiteman is the Mercury's new general manager and Lisa Rodgers is the new advertising manager.
Ms Whiteman has already been out and about in the community; she was at the Illawarra Women In Business annual awards earlier this month and Friday's launch of the annual Angels at Work charity fund-raiser for the Leukaemia Foundation.
She is also talking to the Illawarra Business Chamber about hosting a Business Before Hours networking event at the new Market Street office this year.
She has a strong newspaper background and 16 years' experience in the commercial retail industry.
Ms Whiteman previously worked in the Fairfax Community Newspaper Group as commercial manager for the south-west region of Sydney.
She said she was excited to lead the Illawarra Mercury at a time of embracing new and evolving platforms, and said the newspaper had a strong future as it grew the masthead and continued its involvement in the community.
Monday was Ms Rodgers' first day at the Mercury. She too has a strong newspaper background and held a state management position at SEEK.
Ms Rodgers has an extensive knowledge of digital media and plans to use that to further grow the Mercury across all platforms in the local market.
"We have a long-standing history in the Illawarra and plan to stay here a long time," she said.
