This time, real estate firm CBRE has been engaged to undertake the tender process for the long-term lease of the council-owned property.
Last month Shellharbour City Council reaffirmed its commitment to The Links as part of its recommendation to proceed to tender.
On the same night c ouncillors also voted 4-3 to write off a debt of $890,000 "owed to ratepayers" by the golf course after the sale of six residential lots at the course failed to cover the deficit.
The decisions were made as it was revealed the golf course's operating loss in the 2012-13 financial year had blown out beyond half a million dollars.
The course was previously put out to a "soft tender" by the the council but after a long period of negotiation the council failed to reach an agreement.
Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said CBRE would test the national and international market.
"The club maintains a strong membership base of people from our city and beyond," Cr Saliba said.
Tenders will close at 4pm on July 10.
