Benjamin Jacob Thomas, 26, is accused of repeatedly stabbing his 20-year-old girlfriend at the couple's Marceau Street home last November.
The woman was taken to hospital with wounds to her neck, back and arms.
Thomas has been held in custody without bail since his arrest. During a brief appearance in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday via video link, Thomas was told two extra charges had been laid against him relating to allegations he twice tried to interfere with the court case.
Police claim Thomas contacted a person in December last year and in January this year and made arrangements for a witness in the case against him to be coerced or intimidated.
Thomas is yet to enter pleas to any charges.
His case will return to court next month.
