Shoahaven inspector Steve Johnson said an 85-year-old male driver suffered serious head and spinal injuries when his ute lost control while navigating a bend on Turpentine Road about 5pm on Sunday.
The man’s 73-year-old wife, who was in the passenger seat, suffered serious leg injuries.
Both were trapped for a period of time.
The Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit has commenced inquiries into the incident.
