The campaign will provide input for the council's new arts and cultural strategy for the city.
The "idea bombing event" will be an informal forum for creative people with a passion to share their ideas with others.
The evening event will provide anyone artistic and imaginative to share their passion with others, inspiring creativity in the process through 10-minute "lightning talks".
"It will be a great evening of music, food and inspiring talks about how we can make Shellharbour a more creative city," Shellharbour Mayor Marianne Saliba said.
Speakers will include Ben Tillman from Yours and Owls, Simon Grant from Verb Syndicate, Gallery 5 Crown Lane's Josh Wiffen and Lizzie and Caitlyn from Wild Rumpus.
Topics will include the visual and performing arts, music, literature, film; festivals and events; cultural economic and the creative industry; and the built environment including place-making and public art.
The event will be held 6pm to 8pm, on Friday, June 27, at the Space.
The Creative Shellharbour survey is available on Shellharbour Council's website until Sunday, June 29, and comments and images can be posted to council's Facebook page.
The new arts and cultural strategy will guide Shellharbour Council's approach to art and cultural investment and activity over the next three to five years, building on existing assets and resources, while also providing new opportunities.
