Don't expect South Coast greyhound Stilton Blue to try to break his Group 1 duck north of the border in the next couple of months.
Phil Goodsell's jet-heeled speedster was set to start as favourite for the Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park last Saturday night, but was displaced at the top of markets in the final minutes of betting.
He eventually ran a brave fourth behind upset winner Bessy Boo, with Nowra-trained Tommy Brislane back in fifth.
Goodsell has already headed to Victoria with Stilton Blue in an assault on the $100,000-to-the-winner Maturity Classic at The Meadows next month.
"He pulled up sensational after the Peter Mosman and was out running around again the next morning when I was collecting some firewood," said Goodsell, who's based at Falls Creek.
"We'll give him a bit of time to settle and have a couple of trials before having a crack at the Maturity."
Goodsell is likely to target the NSW National Sprint Championships and Dapto Megastar later in the year, both of which are at Group 1 level.
