Racial taunts at a set of traffic lights sparked a bloody road rage attack that left a man fighting for his life in a Sydney hospital, according to two men involved.

A 28-year-old man is in a critical condition with stabs wounds and a severed ear after he and his twin brother were involved in a car chase that ended in bloodshed at Stanhope Gardens in Sydney’s north-west.
Two of the men who suffered minor injuries, aged 23 and 19, told the media the following day they were attacked by two men in a Toyota Hilux.
“They were the aggressors,” one of the men yelled from his balcony on Thursday.
“Yeah they started chanting out all this racist s--- to us up at the bloody, f---ing lights up here so we told them to get f---ed.
“Next thing I know they are trying to run us off the road.”

Police say both pairs involved in the bloody fight had different versions of what happened.
But the men travelling in the Subaru WRX claim they were the victims of a racist attack.
“They were big Pacific Islander guys saying, 'you effing Aussies, you think you are effing tough'. We were sitting there doing nothing. Me and my mate were sitting, having a ciggie at the lights,” he said.
Superintendent Rod Smith said police believe the two men in the Subaru got involved in a confrontation with two men in a Toyota Hilux on Old Windsor Road at Parklea about 9pm.
There was some sort of pursuit, and cars were rammed before the fight culminated on Stanhope Parkway at The Ponds.
Pictures show the passenger seat, dashboard and window of the Hilux drenched in blood. A large amount of blood can also be seen on grass outside of the vehicle.
Police found two of the men from the Hilux on nearby Bather Street, The Ponds.
About the same time police found the two men from the Subaru two kilometres away on Rochdale Circuit at Stanhope Gardens.
The front of the silver car was covered in blood and its windscreen was smashed.
Superintendent Smith said the injuries suffered were “horrific” and “frightening”.
“One of the persons has suffered some horrific injuries as a result of it , has been operated on and as a result is in intensive care.”
“It doesn’t appear that they know each other, doesn’t appear they have known each other before but we don’t know.”
The incident follows another road rage attack on Monday where a 73-year-old man was left with a fractured neck and bleeding on the brain in Strathfield.
