Terragong at Jamberoo, part of the life of seven generations of the Marks family, has changed hands for the first time in more than 150 years.

Built by John Marks in 1858, the Georgian homestead on Jamberoo Road provided a base from where Marks rose to become a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
He also had a term as mayor of Kiama.
According to Australian Property Monitors, the homestead, on a five-hectare parcel of land with gardens, sold for $1.5 million.
The rendered bluestone homestead has four-metre high ceilings - some pressed metal, some timber; cedar doors and windows and multiple fireplaces of marble and tile.
It was sold by Vivienne Marris of Elders Jamberoo.
"It is a stunning home and the new owners, a Sydney couple, have plans to restore the home to its former glory," Ms Marris said.
"I am sure the Marks family will be happy with how it turns out, the new buyers have a lot of experience with heritage homes."
Ms Marris said Terragong was likely to remain a home or potentially a bed and breakfast.
Japanese influence
Two homes from builder Sekisui House are now on display in Apollo Drive, Shell Cove, the first to open in what will become Housing World Shell Cove.
Sekisui is the Japanese building company that purchased the building arm of AV Jennings in 2010 through its Australian subsidiary, Sekisui House Australia Holdings.
Sekisui House has built more than 2 million dwellings in Japan and has gained a reputation for using advanced technology in building eco-friendly houses.
The new display village at Shell Cove will also be home to a new Shell Cove sales and information centre.
When complete there will be a range of home designs in the village from builders including Beechwood, Allworth, Masterton, Metricon, Raymond Vincent Homes, MacDonald Jones, South Coast Homes and Marksman Homes.
Eventually accessible via Cove Boulevard, a road currently under construction, the new display village will be within the Shores Precinct, close to The Waterfront, Shell Cove.
Australand's Shell Cove development director, Glenn Colquhoun, said construction was also in progress on parklands and wetlands that will neighbour the display village to provide landscaped areas for the community to enjoy.
"This will be a significant piece of public reserve and wetland infrastructure - it is an attractive location," Mr Colquhoun said.
Meantime marketing begins today for 19 lots in the Shallows Precinct. A ballot for the lots will take place on July 19.
Flurry of interest
Only one lot remains for sale in Tullimbar Village's second stage after a flurry of interest in recent months.
Miltonbrook's Lawson Fredericks said the 28-lot second stage was released in October, but most of the sales have taken place this year.
"Usually we would be happy if 60 per cent had sold by now," Mr Fredericks said.
The strong interest means Miltonbrook is keen to get stage three under way, however Mr Fredericks said this will still be a few months away as the relocation of some major power lines needs to take place to allow the next subdivision to begin.
Meanwhile, there has been some strong interest already in another Miltonbrook project at Jamberoo, to be known as Chapel Hill.
Kiama Municipal Council gave the green light to the 31-lot subdivision in December.
The 4-hectare site off Drualla Road is located behind Jamberoo Public School and adjoins the historic St Matthew's Catholic Church and cemetery.
The majority of lots are between 800 and 1000 square metres, with a handful of larger lot sizes up to 2455 square metres.
Mr Fredericks said Miltonbrook was hoping to start construction on the subdivision early next month.
A construction contractor had been lined up and marketing of the lots will follow the start of construction works.
