Among them was Figtree doctor Margaret Perrott, who won't be charging the government's $7 GP co-payment fee.
"I object violently to the co-payment," she said.
"I will not be charging it to my patients."
Dr Perrott said she was also concerned future university medical students wouldn't be able to afford to study.
"I got my education for free," she said.
"A young person who wants to be a doctor will land up in terrible debt."
South Coast Labour Council secretary Arthur Rorris said the group, called Budget Busters Illawarra, was formed to raise awareness about a national day of action on July 6, when rallies in opposition to the budget would be held in capital cities around the country.
"There will be a major rally and opportunity to tell the federal government that the budget works against the interests of ordinary people," Mr Rorris said.
"It's making 99 per cent of the people in this country pay for the ideological obsessions of this government.
"It seeks to give a hand up to the big end of town, the big corporations that don't need it, and it wants the poor and the workers and the sick and the students and the rest of us really to pay for it."
Mr Rorris said the community had reacted well to the stall on Friday, with many signing petitions.
