Police are warning drivers about the dangers of residual alcohol after a 29-year-old Woonona man was caught drink-driving the morning after a big night out.
About 9.30am on Saturday, police observed a vehicle hit a jersey barrier coming down Bulli Pass.
The driver was stopped for a breath test and blew a positive reading. He was then taken to Wollongong Police Station where he allegedly registered a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.
Police said the man started drinking about 4pm on Friday until an unknown time and was returning home from Sydney when he was pulled over.
He was issued an attendance notice to appear in Port Kembla court on high-range drink driving charges.
