Commitment to Illawarra projects queried

For the second year running the NSW government budget papers don't give any dates for the completion of key local infrastructure projects, Labor candidate for Kiama Glenn Kolomeitz said.

Mr Kolomeitz has questioned when and if they will ever be completed.

"This year's budget, like last year's, has no time frames for the completion for planning of the Albion Park bypass, or the Berry to Bomaderry upgrade," Mr Kolomeitz said.

"Gareth Ward and the NSW government need to come clean with our community - when will these projects be completed?

"The $1 million allocated this year brings total funding to $2.1 million for the Albion Park bypass.

"With a price tag of $600 million, at this rate it will be not be completed for at least another 598 years," Mr Kolomeitz said.

Kiama MP Gareth Ward said the state government had delivered record funds for the Princes Highway.

"You only have to look out the window at Gerringong to see the work taking place," Mr Ward said.

"The $2.1 million for Albion Park Rail is to commence planning and we have been quite honest about the fact planning will take about three to six years.

"My cards are on the table, I call on the Labor candidate to show his.

"Not one single promise or commitment has been made in the Kiama electorate by Labor since a candidate has been endorsed."
