Eden Paull was named trainee of the year on Friday as part of the annual state training awards.
And immediately after accepting the award, Ms Paull revealed she was looking for permanent work.
‘‘At the moment, I am looking for full-time employment in human resource management,’’ she said.
Ms Paull said the traineeship had prepared her well and she felt she was now in a good position to be of value to any employer.
‘‘I did a traineeship because vocational education and training offered so much for me,’’ she said.
‘‘It gave me a foot in the door to learn all those skills I would not have otherwise if I had not done my traineeship. I am now also looking at doing my Certificate IV in HR.’’
Ms Paull recently completed a Business Services Business Administration Certificate III with 1300apprentice and State Training Services Illawarra.
Illawarra ITeC was the registered training organisation she did that through.
Ms Paull said she wanted to work in HR and her goal for the next five years was to secure a role that would allow her to progress to a team leader.
And she would like to do that in the Illawarra so that she does not have to leave the place where she continues to want to live and work.
Ms Paull is open to working in any sector of industry but is keen on banking or hospitality.
