Bail was refused and Forbes was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon.
Forbes had pleaded not guilty to five charges of indecently assaulting a child and one charge of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child aged under 10.
Charges were laid after two girls alleged Forbes touched them inappropriately during an overnight stay at his house on March 27, 2013.
The younger girl also alleged the then 53-year-old performed sexual acts on her.
The jury retired on Monday afternoon after Judge Mark Marien finished summing up the case, and deliberated for eight hours before returning the guilty verdicts.
During the trial, the jury heard Forbes had touched the older girl and rubbed her inappropriately - including on her chest and genitals.
The jury also heard he reached inside the underpants of the younger girl and asked her "does that feel nice?", before withdrawing his hand when she replied: "No".
The jury was told that during a later encounter, when the two were alone in the guest bedroom, Forbes took the younger girl's hand and placed it inside his underpants. He then asked her to lie on the bed, pulled the neck of her nightie down and licked her nipples and her genitals.
Forbes will be sentenced on August 21 in Sydney.
