Rugby league is embroiled in more drama, with a Queensland Origin player reportedly accused of assault after a late-night bonding session in Brisbane.

It has emerged that winger Will Chambers was at the centre of a complaint after allegedly pushing a patron at at the Down Under Bar at 2am on Wednesday, the same venue that coach Mal Meninga fell foul of last year when he moved behind the bar to pour a beer.

No charges have been laid but the Queensland Rugby League said in a statement they were beginning investigations.

"The Queensland Rugby League (QRL) have been made aware of an alleged incident last night in Brisbane," the statement read. "The League is currently working with the relevant authorities to determine the facts and will be making no further comment until this is complete."

The NRL Integrity Unit has also been advised of the incident.
