The red 1964 Ford Falcon was hit by a bus on the corner of Corrimal Street and Burelli Street in Wollongong, about 11.50am Saturday.
The Ford’s driver, a 46-year-old man from Wollongong’s northern suburbs, was transported to Wollongong Hospital with a shoulder injury.
His car sustained serious damage across its entire front end.
The collision caused traffic delays on Corrimal Street.
Damage to the bus, which had been travelling westbound along Burelli Street, included a smashed entry door.
The Ford had been travelling southbound on Corrimal Street.
The Mercury understands the bus driver was unhurt.
