But these days he has his own games to get to.
Caleb's mother, Julie, credits weekly basketball and wheelchair basketball sessions run through the Kidzwish Foundation with bringing her shy 10-year-old out of his shell.
"He's come from spectator to someone who's really involved in a team," Mrs Jordan said.
"I think it really gives him a sense of purpose. He spends a lot of time in hospital, so it's nice to have a change."
Caleb, who has Down syndrome, was at the Definition Fitness gym on Saturday to see 22 competitors push their bodies through a fund-raiser games day.
The $2000 raised will go towards supporting Kidzwish programs such as the sports academy Caleb attends every Tuesday night.
"Our whole family's life has probably been changed through Kidzwish," Mrs Jordan said.
"We get lots of opportunities to go to activities and things that we never would have been able to do otherwise."
Definition Fitness owner Daniel Knust said the gym's community liked seeing people become more confident through health and fitness activities.
"Some of our members have got relatives who have benefited from the work of Kidzwish, so it's a good cause to be part of," he said.
